Tony -- I was actually going to post a Mushrooms Anyone thread till I saw yours. I am jealous -- just so you know how dry we've been until just lately -- I have seen ""O N E "" yellow -- that's it -- ONE.
I was so ashamed I left it hopefully seed the next generation -- albeit 5 years from now as they tell me.
Nice to be in the weter regions, for sure. We have gotten just enough rain to green things up -- but just try digging a fence post by hand -- I dare ya!!!
Went to the long distance neighbors tonight to borrow a tractore three point post digger -- hoked it uo with great anticipation -- only to see it sit at 4 inches and grind away and go no where. When we pulled it out of the hole -- it was STEAMIMG -- yup -- was too hot to touch!
I have had it -- I think we'll just drive steel in the ground and call it good!
Enjoy those shrooms Tony. I know they don't keep well -- so eat away.
We fry them after a good soaking in salt water to kill the little buggies, best in parkay butter -- when they are about 1/2 cooked, spinkle flour over the wet mix and fry some more till crispy -- love em , can you tell I used to live in Missouri?? hehehe
Terry
PS == Used to be a web site called
www.morelheaven.com -- haven't tried to go there for a few years, but they used to have GREAT resipes for Morels.
