I was wondering about those Y chromosomes and if environmental stress on bulls would carry thru as pre-programming for future generations, even if the cows experienced no stress. We usually think about stress as it affects the cows, but when we AI with bulls that come from ideal nutritional programs, what message do they bring to cows who must manage in the real world? Will the calves be programmed for a life of leisure and require supplementation from day one to achieve those expected progeny differences?
