I think everyone stated their opinion on this years ago and I think we need to move on !!!! I do sincerely aplolgize if my opinion unintentually hurt anyone. The Nelson's bull is a great one and deserves his due regardless of how anyone felt about his promotion. MOVE ON !!!!!!!!!

As far as associations go they won't allow racey names as I understand it. But on a three way cross bull I assume a name isn't recorded anyway...or is it. Whore dog and crack baby..I thought were catchie names for instance would the Shorthorn assc allow those names on papers I wonder. Move on....the audience on this board is always revolving. However if the steer planet police wants this thread killed I guess it is.

social security was designed to last 2.5 years and was basically for women who's bread winner died.  anyone game for reducing social security today?  rarely has the american public voted down a security blanket, or any society for that matter.  i wonder what today's version of the guillotine will look like where society goes after entitlements rather than the literal heads.  it's going to be ugly.  i predict something will happen in 15-20 years as people finally figure out printing money and treating everyone unequally doesn't work.  no government has the wisdom to create the national gallery, especially during the depression.

no one will get upset about this either, on the private sector salaries.  picking winners and losers is something the government fails at every time.

The pay packages for Fannie's CEO, Michael Williams, and Freddie CEO Ed Haldeman are expected to be similar to each other and are to be paid in cash because the companies shares are nearly worthless. Fannie and Freddie also plan to disclose pay packages for several other senior executives.

but keep voting these fools in.

I guess I really dont care what the bulls' name is as long as he throws good calves and gigolo joe has proven just that, plus calving ease. I agree the whole passing out condoms is a little weird.

What would be some borderline crazy names.....viagra,orgasmic,(bad name for negro),wet dream, barack, polinie, big weiner? We've had money shot, ayatollah, so far. Wonder what new names will show in Denver? How about a bull named Meth with free samples given out? How about Cop Killer with bullets given out. How about Extends with free samples? How about "greatfull dead" or "bad finger"?

I am one who commends the creative thinker and actually enjoy going back and viewing this time in history. I predict the Nelson's marketing ploy will pass the test of time. It made us stop and think. Aren't we still talking about it ? That's genius.

Dear Brad and Julie -I failed to read all the posts, but well remember how you were made out to be these horrible people by some. I hope that all this will help make us think and use our brains a little more. If I were to bet, I would say there was not one child's mind damaged like some insinuated. The youngest would not have even know what it meant and the older ones would have just thought it was funny. I thought it was funny and got a big kick out of it. What is so wrong with that.

I hope we can all discover our minds and enjoy what  is meant to be in fun.

Have a wonderful Christmas,
Jack

Good name, and great viral marketing.

Speaking of names, there was a bucking bull at a PBR event named "My Wife".  You can only imagine how hilarious it sounded when the announcer said, "Randy Miranda got bucked off My Wife in 3.6 seconds".  Sorry, but true story.

happy holidays!

my mind was damaged.  now i need mental health care.  just kidding.

though i disagreed with the innuendo in the ads and the surrounding of the picture and some of the words and would not employ the same, i don't have a problem with it.

it made me notice the 2nd bull advertised which i like better.

You may talk down and say how terrible these names are but in the long run these names are rembered before regualr old names will be. I think womanizer was my favorite name last year... The name and promotion is ment to grab your attention wether you catch some flak for it or not that promotion is suppose to spur your mind everytime the subject comes up. Nelsons did and excellent promotional job. that bull will be remebered for his publicity and for his calves because he can make some good ones out of first calf heifers. I think there best promotion was taking his progeny out to denver to display with him, proof in the pudding not too many bulls can be seen still loooking good as a mature bull with to smokin heifers next to them.

I say great job juli on raising one heck of a bull
Andrew
P.s. Our first joe calf came 3 weeks early and is a 50# ball of fire,we are looking forward to a heifer calf on the next one

i missed the thread 2 yrs ago ...but i must say i find the concept....excentric, and unique....and a hugh gamble for the markerters at the time i'm sure....but isnt that what it takes in this game??.....unique, a bit of a gamble, and just a bit excentric??...i think the marketers new there market quite well, meant no harm or offense to anyone....and hit it out of the park with there bull....congrats to the one who thought of it and and a years supply of antacide to the one who ok'd it....with the success of gj, i would say the whole deal....from soup to nuts.....was a success...jbarl
