Here is an official statement make by Muck Boots:

A few days ago we made a series of mistakes here and on our other social media channels. Words can’t express how sorry we are that we’ve caused so much disappointment in our brand. There’s been a lot of speculation as to what happened, and clearly our initial statement caused even more confusion.

While we’ve been quiet here, please know that we’ve been reading every one of your comments and I want to personally address your concerns.

Here’s exactly what happened…we suffered the loss of a colleague a few months ago. Our colleague had a long fight with cancer and had a cat that was by his side until the very end. Because of that, his family requested that -- in lieu of flowers -- donations by employees, not the company, be made to a local animal shelter in his honor. The Humane Association of Northwestern Rhode Island (HANRI) was identified as our local shelter; it’s about ten miles from our office in Smithfield, Rhode Island.

Here are the mistakes we made: first, we posted photos on our Facebook page and on Instagram of an employee-sponsored collection effort in our warehouse, which was disrespectful to our colleague and completely inappropriate. Despite our good intent, we should never have used these corporate channels for what was a private matter. Then, we incorrectly tagged Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) in the posts, when the money was actually intended for our local animal shelter. And finally, when the statement went up in an attempt to clarify the events, the money hadn’t yet been delivered, because the funds were still being collected. Cash and personal checks were hand-delivered yesterday by the same employees who raised the funds.

Needless to say, our entire team has learned some hard lessons this week.

We know it is you, our customers, who have helped build the Muck Boot brand to what it is today. We would never intentionally alienate you, and we sincerely apologize if we have done so this past week. We’ve worked hard over the years to build quality footwear and to build a brand that is broadly trusted – we hope that you’ll give us a chance to earn back that trust.

Farmers, outdoor enthusiasts and sportsmen are among our most loyal customers and at the core of what we do and why we do it. You can continue to count on us for the very best footwear and to never forget who we work for – you, our customers.

— Sean O’Brien, director of footwear, Muck Boots.

I guess in the end, we are just genes and there is no such thing as morality. Termination of genes is really the game and a genetic bottleneck and therefore self fulfilling prophesy is the religion. Sad. The left can't figure out they detest diversity.

If I'm supposed to be receptive to change, why aren't others?

The left has become what they hate.

Xbar, lets stay on task here, l am also against abortion. This isn't the setting to take up that fight. That fight involves a lot of fire and some of our feelings will get hurt. Possibly even yours. If you are so opposed to the way these cattle are being raised i would assume that you don't eat a steak at a restaurant or buy prepackaged meat at your local grocery.  Now I have already stated that I am against the inhumane treatment of any animal. Having said that, the lots that you showed us in the pictures looked clean and there was feed in the trough. Cattle eat, crap wonder around a little, get a drink look for some grass or hay and repeat.  If you are claiming inhumane treatment because they are confined then sir you no very little about getting an animal from feeder to slaughter. And if you think the cattle confinements are bad you shouldn't look at even the very good hog confinements. Lets not forget these animals feed the world. But the price on human life is far greater, I think That is the point knabe is making.  Oh and if you don't eat steak other than that, that you have raised or buy meat at the store then you now know our stand on the boots. But if you do eat and buy this meat then clearly your definition is one of disregard, and you shouldn't judge us so harshly.

What's more inhumane, those cattle or the illegal aliens being housed, gun violence in Detroit, Oakland, Chicago, seems like they have one thing in common, liberalism.

Liberalism is more cruel to humans and puppies than the vast majority of cattle people ever thought about being.

Note the logic used by a liberal, no matter who's in the White House. The get to decide by statute that they are the final arbiter, not elected officials or private citizens.

“All of these documents are nondisclosable because ‘the public interest served by not disclosing the record clearly outweighs the public interest served by disclosure of the record,’” a lawyer for the insurance exchange wrote, citing California Government Code §6255. “Disclosing the names and criminal records of individuals applying to assist in Covered California’s push to enroll vast numbers in health insurance by March 31, 2014, is likely to discourage participation in this critical program and thus harm the people of California.”

That there's people who even think to write this stuff and elected officials pass it is awesome. Just think about it folks. You can't even begin to imagine the layers of these people who exist, ever increasing the protection of the government over private citizens. It's amazing we even get to vote anymore. In actuality, we don't really as the entire apparatus is extremely toxic to outside interest. You can tell their strategy very easily, social issue focus and personal history to discourage any turnover.  No one has really figured out yet how to deal with these people.
