Wondering if anyone is planning on attending the sale tomorrow.  Went up to look at the cattle this evening and was happy with what they are offering.  Shoal Creek Farms has consigned some nice females and I think there are going to be some great buys tomorrow.  Had a great meal and got too meet many people.

I thought about going, but decided not to. What did lots 9, and lot 7_(79 I think)  bring? The 70 something bull was a ball face 1/2 blood SimAngus bull with some white on his underline. He was one of the first bulls in the bull section of the catalog.

9 - $8000
As far as the bald bull.... in the seventies the only bald bull was  Rendition T310.  There were offering lots of sexed semen from this bull.  Was the first time it was offered to the public.  Let me know if you think it was another bull and I will check.

What did that go for? I found my catalog and it was bull 79. I described him wrong lol. What about 83, and heifers 15 and 16? Those are all the questions I have I promise.

I will have to get back with you later in the evening about the $ amts for 83, 15 and 16.  I can tell you the Shoal Creek lots sold incredibly reasonable.  Deal of the day may have been lot 4a.  Really flashy baldy heifer that is only going to get better.  She tapped out at, if I remember correctly, $1500.

The Rendition semen $175 per straw.  Thought about picking up a lot of 3 straws, but that was a little much for my pocket.  He is neat looking though, just havent seen much out of him yet.  I will be interested in what he throws though.

And don't worry about the questions.  Not a problem in the least.

Wow, you got away with one there!  IMO. Congrats on your new girl.  If you hang out on SP very much I may drop you an occasional line to check in on your son's  new heifers, progress!

How old is he?

He is 9, and has been showing for about 4 years.  But he doesn't do good with starting out with older calves.  So we are hoping that since she is young that she will work out really good for him.  One of the first calves he started with was a fall heifer and was able to show her 2 years, and she worked really good for him.  I'm sure we will see you at some shows!

Where are you located at... if you dont mind me asking?  What shows do you frequent or are planning on going?  My daughter is 9 and son 8.  We bought a heifer at the four state sale after the OBCC sale and have LOVED her so far.  She has been great with my son.  He is, from the sounds of it, a little like your boy when it comes to the bigger girls, but this lil heifer and him just click! This will be his first year showing something other than a bucket calf.  We did that for ...... an eternity!  LOL  Really fun to watch him gain confidence and the heifer, I think, would rather hang out with the kids than the cows.

North West Arkansas.  We were at the Hillbilly show in Harrison a couple of weeks ago.  We will also be going to the Simmental Regionals in June!

We had a simmy heifer at the Hillbilly.  We did Ok Saturday with the res overall.  Sunday was a little different.  Couldnt get past the chromed up Jan heifer, but after Saturday.... we didnt complain!  It was a fun show.  We will be at Regionals as well.  Our youngest is gonna get after it in the novice division.  He was bummed about not being able to take his new heifer, but she would get OVERWHELMED in the % class, so it may be better off.

There were some AR people sitting behind us that picked up 21a as well?  Would that happen to be you too?  That lot of three were pretty cute.
