This is a picture of the storm that hit Kearney last week, and wiped out the Buffalo County Arena where the Cattlemen's Classic is held.

Wow, That is an unreal picture.  Where did you find that?  I'll bet that person in the car had some shorts to clean after that.

Here's a related link. Don't know if it is the same storm system or not but this video is from the Parkersburg IA storm. The one that got the buildings at Todd Neil's. There are a few pictures of Todd's place on Showsteers. Here's the link:

EF5 Tornado hits Neil Farm

On Sunday, May 25, 2008, Todd "Bucky" & Alisa Neil's Farm was hit by a EF5 Tornado.  The tornado was about a mile wide and ripped through Parkersburg and surrounding towns in Iowa, killing seven people and injuring 67.
It struck between 5:30 and 6:15 PM, moving across the towns of Aplington, New Hartford, Waterloo and Dunkerton. Final assessment of the tornado rated it a low EF-5, with estimated wind speeds up to 205 mph.

Luckily the Neil's were not home at the time and  the most part Todd & Alisa were able to salvage most of their personal belongings.  The hardest thing for them were the cows and calves. It is very hard to see something that has taken years to build turned up side down in minutes and there’s nothing you can do. Insurance will rebuild barns and a house but the cow herd will be the hardest part to replace.

If you would like to help an account has been established for donations at:
Home State Bank
203 3rd Avenue
Royal, IA 51357
Make checks payable to Todd and Alisa Neil

Thanks so much for thinking of them!

That first picture is amazing.  It looks like the hand and wrath of God...can you imagine how angry he is at this old world.
