I have a cow who is about 17wks bred....and for the last 2weeks off and on she's had clear slimy mucus coming out.  Normally I've seen this closer to due dates.  The cow as confirmed bred at 60days (give or take a few).  She had a hard pull last year and lost the calf.  The AI tech did a round of vaginal antibiotics before ever setting her up to "clear thinkgs" up.  Am I worrying over something little or has she probably aborted (or about to abort) the fetus?  Thanks for any information and I apologize is so long.

Did she have an infection after calving?

How long after calving did you re-breed her?

Sounds like a wait and see or have her ultrasounded.  I have had them discharge plenty but stay bred and all kinds of variation.

What protocol did you use to set her up?

She did have a little infection after calving...she got an antibiotic shot from vet 2days post-calving.  She calved in July 2011, rebred November 2012.  So I waited to keep her on track with the rest of the herd.  I am hoping I am worrying about nothing.  She is up eating grass, comes up when called, nothing out of her ordinary.  The protocol used was a vaginal antibiotic flush for 7 days.  Open(free of antibiotics) for 7, then a CIDR implanted and pulled 7 days later then bred when she was ready.
