I agree with Doc. I'm sad to hear Andy Griffith has passed. He was a master of good comedy, and he made televison "good television."  I can still remember how hard my family would laugh at some of the Andy Griffith shows and how he treated Oppie is IMO, a great example for all of us in how we should treat and respect the next generation. ... .. and I don't think there ever was as good a small town lawyer as Andy portrayed in teh Matlock series. Andy Griffith was a class act and he will be missed!

It was just nice to have shows that the whole family could watch.  Now you have cartoons with cuss words.

Does this mean Opie is the only main character still alive?

Yea, as a father of 3 daughters, it sometimes gets embarassing watching a "primetime sitcom" with them. But then maybe I'm just too old fashioned.

I have 4 boys and a girl. The boys enjoy watching Dukes of Hazzard, Bonanza, and Beverly Hill Billies. We bought them on DVD so that they don't watch the stuff on TV nowadays. They are still young though. My mother loved Matlock. They don't make shows like that anymore.

I have one boy and one girl  both under 4.  Agree with all the above statements except Doc being too old fashioned.
