If I register a pb char cow to troubadour, who is registered 3/4 char, the offspring will be 7/8 char. Is this considered a purebred in the char association? Thanks.

You can register the calf as a composite because you used a purebred cow ,Troubadour has the same problem because his mother was a X bred ....If they registered him
as a composite you could use him on another registered composite and register that offspring ....Have a customer that used Milkman on a composite and can't register or show her as a composite because owner of Milkman won't register him .....Make's you wonder on some of these clubby sires if they are what they say they are because they provide no poof in any way on a lot of them ....
AS far as your percentage cattle you should go to AICA web page and look up percentage cattle because  think they do have percentage cattle ...They have about 5 different divisions of registry and kind of confusing ...

I believe you would have to be registered in the composite registry.  There is no way to "breed up" to a purebred charolais using a percentage bull.  But double check that with the association.
