I just got home tuesday morning at 7:30 from sedalia. I had been down to Rob's to a.i. cows and what a great experience it was. The dam of 329 was absolutely without a doubt the widest assed deepest ribbed cow that I bred. Quite possibly my favorite cow though was a Sutherland Ransom 179 daughter. An 034 daughter out of the 322 cow was another standout. I got to see over 200 of the pairs and was very impressed with the consistency throughout the entire herd, both commercial and registered. Some of the cows that Rob commented about being questionable on udder and teat design would have been some of the best uddered cows in some herds that I have toured. I also had the privilege of getting to breed a few of the heifers that Rob sold on the sale that he is holding there at his place for the new owners prior to export and wow were they nice. Very quiet disposition, deep ribbed, good headed, cowy heifers with very nice tracts. Anyone who thinks shorthorn can't compete in the commercial sector should take a tour at Rob Sneed's, it would convince the inconvincible.
