I don't know if any of you went to try to find Sailing On @ the Ia beef Expo, but if you did I apologize. Troy, Brooke, & I did set set up the display area Thursday night into Friday morning, but when we got back in Friday morning to fine tune the area we got a call that he would not be coming. He just didn't feel quite 100%, so we decided better to keep him home. Again sorry that we couldn't get him out. We are planning right now to get him feeling well and to get some pics and promote him through the cattle mags. There is a very slight chance that he may come to Ohio, but I kinda doubt it, since we will all be calving by then and don't have a crew to help watch heifers/cows. I will post up accordingly as to where to watch for him.
On a side note, we did show 2 hd of chi x heifers. One stood 8 out of nine and the other one stood, I think fourth from the bottom. I can't remember how many were in class 124, but I do know that it was easier counting from the bottom than the top. I came home though satisfied in the results of the show. The best thing for me personally was the fact that my whole family pitched in and were very helpful with everything all weekend and I can see that things will get better with experience.
Congrats to all that participated. I was in awe of how good the cattle were and am totally fascinated with how well some of the PPL can fit.
