Dear guys, I need to flush some cows with aim to produce maternal cows....what suggetions to use as sire donor for produce these embryos.
Thanks for all.
Please give the frame size and birth wts of the cows-The bulls you have listed are all Canadian-which judging from the incredibly good genetic pictures I saw from the Shorthorn revival would be a good match-But if you have a low BW cow-and she isnt light roan-JITS avatar bull-if available-really deserves considerationarticularly considering his wieght and body type-which is much like the types in the Revival "embryo" sale picturesf that awesome champion bull shown O0
Mark. The cows are all 5 framed, little bit more maybe. BW average 34 kgs. Color is a matter that show not relevance for us in southern Brazil.
I had a calf from one of my donors mate with Leroy that produced a 52 kg calf, but was only one calf, another ones stay among 34 - 38 kg.
Asked as this flush is for a guy that wish make females.
I have some argentinian bulls on my inverory, but I think that this genetic isn't commom for you on north hemisphere.
Thank you for your comment.
Yesturday looks like a good bull to retain low birth wts-Hes made stout-though not very big. Leroy has produced alot of usefull cattle-But like you experienced-There are big calves on occaision-Im not familiar with the other bull. O0
Yesterday seems to be a good choice, judging by his figures. I have sampled him in my Autumn 2014 programme, due February 2015. I abandoned my Spring 2014 programme due to no winter rain.
Seems to have good BW, in fact all his Fall 2014 ASA figures seem to be excellent, and judging by the pictures he seems to have tremendous depth.
I am hoping for easy-doing progeny, good luck for your programme.
