Just curious what ever happened to him. He may not have been purebred but i believe he was. I saw him back then and the guy that was using /leasing him was breeding him for club calves. Any info about that bull?

This bull is a full sister to the dam of Polar Express, a bull that I think has an intensely stacked pedigree for making tremendous Shorthorn steers, and steer mamas. He's a bull that I've never had a bad calf from around here- and would use a ton more of-- if he was not hot. I believe that PE was always promoted for useage on the wrong kind of cows- and never worked b/c his pedigree said he wouldn't work on that type of cow. In terms of the bull you are asking about- I wouldnt' expect a Vortec/ Cunia bull to sire just super powerful steers-- but I'd sure want to keep daughters of his around.
It's my understanding that old Annie cow was quite the female, as was her mother.
I've talked to the Compton guy a few times, and he's dedicated to making good steery type catle that's for sure.. Awesome guy, just called me the first time out of the blue. Here's his website: http://www.comptonjackson.com/ He shared these two pictures with me this winter of a heifer they raised last year from JPJ and another full sister to MR and PE's mother.
B/c I like PE so much, and this bull is clean-- I'd be sure to want some juice on him if some is available. See what you can find out-- matter of fact, you have me interested-- and I might do some checking myself.

Thanks J! I remember being highly impressed with his bone size, and overall thickness. and he was actually pretty sound to be so stout. he covered several cows that summer i saw him. He is by far the stoutest and clubbiest shorty that i have seen in person, although i have not seen all to many. I remember M.R. got in to the neighbors cows and bred a nice simmi/angus cow. She had the prettiest black and white spotted hfr the next spring that i had laid my eyes on. i told the owner several times that i wanted to buy her if he decided to sell her. He forgot and sent her away on a load. I wanted to cry. lol. anyway, i'll see if i can find some juice on him. thx agan!!
