Do all parts of the country have to watch for grass tetnous in the spring or just certain areas of the country? We put out Mag blocks last week.
We have stepped up the mineral program here after learning the hard way. Every couple of years we have one go down and once the convulsions start it is usually over even if we make the obligatory vet call and spend $150 on IV, etc. Some just don't consume the hi-mag mineral. If we get a big warm up right after a heavy moisture dump, that is the prime time for grass tetany. One thing that seems to help as much as the mineral is to have some grass hay available free choice (usually some stuff that isn't all that great) that they can go fill up on if the new grass doesn't have enough bulk.
