Dang DL...just  because you have interests in 7 breeds doesn't give you the right to ever, ever, ever, goof up.I know i used to think Maine Anjou were red and chianina were white, and simmental were spotted red, and limousins were red and gelbviehs were red and south devons were red and angus were black and shorthorns were a british breed and salers were red and herfords were yellow and pedigrees were accurate and people didn't lie about bwts or birthdates and cattle were judged on their merits and not their color. That was before the national registration of heatseekers that look like 5 different breeds and the showring destroyed the Shorthorns usefullness as a productive breed and who cares what the birthweights are as long as you can sell the offspring to a hobbie farmer on the east coast and who cares if the the cattle are genetic defective if you can sell it to a braindead okie who wants to win a show in fort worth for his daughter at all costs.Who haven't I affended yet?I don't think we are in Kansas anymore and sweet home alabama and poor dad in ohio(inside joke). It really doesn't matter cause the rich guys get the women and being drunk and stupid is no way to get through life(even if you are on double secret probation). And damn them Germans for bombing pearl harbor.ROAD TRIP!!!!!!!!   AHHHHHHHH

OK.....help me out here AJ.....I don't offend easy....but I'm only coming up with four?  Miniature Angus, miniature Hereford, Dutch Belted, Scottish Highlander, and ?????? which other breed are you talking about in reference to HEAT SEEKER?

Yes, that's correct and there was one more owner but can't remember.

this could be wrong, but i think wise's purchased draft pick before he was about to get shipped as the owner didn't know what to do with him and didn't like him.  i think he sold for cheap.  he was coarser made and had more leather than another bull they were using at the time.  i don't even think that owner bred him.  he told me who did, but i can't remember.

I think all the guys are trying to tap into heatseeker. Their is a heatseeker son that looks like a shorthorn now.Just about any black breed could have the influence. I have heard that warhorse was used by some limi breeders. He was a triple carrier. It would be intersesting to me to test say angus steers and see if they were th if nothing else. There is a bull out there of just about any color with heatseeker in him. No complaints just an observation.

Wise's bred Draft Pick and I think that story is correct. Don't know who purchased him first from Wise. DL gave us a quiz as to what his original name was but I forgot. This was during a period which everyone seemed to be enjoying a modicum of levity a bit more.

Yes Telos - those were the days - a modicum of levity here - a modicum of levity there - here is the story - Pannell says in 1993 he was attracted to DP because of "the massive amounts of muscle in a moderate package" and was the "heaviest muscled Maine bull he had seen at the time (1993). Pannell owns DP with Neiman 77 and Bob May - bred as we know by the great Wise Ranch ...I believe ZTA Black Powder was the original name ...

Yup - Nor Tex General is the daddy

If you haven't read about the Wise's program it is a very interesting story historically and from the point of view of their ability to create great females
