to add fill I'd use either beet pulp or Full Fill from Kent. not sure if that's the right name though. Being breed also will add some fill. but genetics play a huge role.

A lower protein, higher fat/fiber ration with a high % of corn/barley.  Top dressing with Moormans/ADM Natural Glo will  help develop hard muscle,and speed up hair growth as well as thickness and shine.  There is not alot you can do to help a calf that does not have the phenotype of a show animal.  Calf selection is all important, but still has to be supported with hard work, and the knowledge of what has to be done, and how to do it.

Hair, mostly but filler from Kent does work wonders too, we really like it.
