While in Denver, a parent explained to me how it, as a terminal show, works for lambs. They explained that aside from the animals who qualify for the sale, the lambs are led directly from the ring to the truck, where the exhibitors receive market price. Is this the case with steers as well? I am curious as to what is the reasoning behind making it a mandatory terminal show? I understand that if they qualified for the sale, they should have to sell it. But if the exhibitor does NOT make the sale, why can't they take it home and try to sell it privately or make the sale at another show?
