I've never seen this one before. I've seen one that attaches to the bottom side of their tail & then to their lip or something. I keep meaning to buy something like one of these & try it. When you work cattle 100% by yourself , you look for anything to make the job easier & safer.

I have seen this couple months ago in Texas when I was at AI school, they showed how it worked. Works on all cows, bulls and calfs no matter how big or small. When you put it in the anus of the cow, that cow or bull will not move PERIOD. You can adjust the strength whether you are working with a calf or full grown bull. You could brand a bull with a red hot iron and that bull will not move if this probe is in him. Works great, would like to buy one some day, they are $750 from Bovine Elite LLC.

so do you think if it pulsated, you could use it for a probe for collection?  or maybe visa versa??
That's an interesting point...I think this would be useful, especially with branding. It would be really cool if it was able to be used for collection too..good idea  (thumbsup)

I wish I could use to AI with but can't for obvious reasons. But I love this machine cause it don't hurt the cattle at all, they did not ball or anything. It is a low voltage that interrupts the nervous system and they don't move. It is not like a Taser for a human cause that is high voltage and hurts like hell, this just interrupts there nervous system and as soon as they pulled the probe out, the cattle did not even act like anything happened. The only pain they will feel is what you are doing to them when they have the probe in them.

I wouldnt say this thing is 100%. I havent used one in years, but when I was in college the first go around, about 8 or 9 yrs ago, the company sent us one to use at the farm as sort of a trial.  We used on everything from pure Brahmans, F1s, crosses, Polled Hereford, you name it.  When it worked it was great, but I would say it was about 50/50 at best on the cow actually responding to it. Like I said, they may have made improvements since then, but at the time I was impressed by the idea, but not how it actually worked...if it truly does work like it says it does now, then I would say it is an amazing tool to keep around.
And for your electro-ejaculation questions, the immobilizer is not even close to the size of an electro ejaculator and works a little differently, I dont think there is really any way to combine the 2 into one product, on something as small as this I dont think the bull would even come close to getting enough stimulation, and if you tried to use something as big as an electro ejaculator to do this, then I think there would be adverse affects.
Just my opinion.

Had to have improvements since then cause they demonstrated on probably 10 plus cows and not a bit of problems as it worked the same on all of them as they did not move at all and we could do anything we wanted to them cows.
