If I recall right, my accountant said that the withholding tables allow less withholding, but the tax rate tables did not change.  Therefore, some people are going to be in for nasty surprises next tax season if they do not withhold enough.  I can't stand the current administration and Pelosi and co., but I have to agree with JbarL that the Republican party is completely in the crapper at the national level.  They lost their conservative focus -- and I don't mean socially conservative, but fiscally conservative.  They had 8 years (control for 6) to do great things and mostly squandered it.  I am afraid that things are going to get a whole lot worse before they get any better both for the nation and the Repub party.

You're exactly right GoWyo. There is going to be a lot of people surprised next spring. Just another ploy to make uninformed people think he is doing great things for them.

FDR's administration was full of "fellow travelers" who went to russia to find out how perfect that system was and imposed it on america.

facism and communism are truly the beginning of the progressive movment.  eugenics as well.  but why dwell on it when there is untaxed income to redistribute?

It has gotten to be a case of OMG where do I start?  For now, it has to be at home with your county commissioners and state legislators.  The cream and the poo will float to the top and it is just a matter of sorting through what comes up.  Make sure you smell it before you bite off a chunk with your vote.

if i was a republican leader (?)...i would stick with immigration.......of all the "standard" right side issues...immigration is one they can find alot of  "friendly faces"...me included.....what in the world are they waiting for??.....labor/industry and manufacturing are the most critical part of any economic recovery regardless of who's in office.......this time around im afraid the workers are going to get the benefit of the doubt....much to the dismay of many ( for some reason??)...the dems would be committing suicide if they even thought of promoting an illegal work force....the right needs to get on the "amercian" band wagon for a while....and quit wasting time trying to pass off accountability, and chasing there tails on every side bar issue thats in the handbook....illegal immigrants "have" to be dealt with sooner or later...they cant have our jobs....and we cant pay for them and 2 generations of "there" family to live here....i 'm waiting for "someone", even sarea palin...to get this thing on the table....its going to be an "amercian" issue again, and  when it does  ...maybe the right can get back in this thing....but theyve got to get organized again with a leader and an  issue that effects us all....theyve drwan a line in the sand on heatlh care & unions and , and now they find them selvesf out there all alone....
might have worked 30 yrs ago....but i'm afraid that dog wont hunt now....jbarl

by polling, at least 50% of naturalized and legal latino's are for enforcement.  they are also for a legal program of non-citizens.  the work force necessary for ag using illegals is around 1 million.  that leaves somewhere between 19 million and 39 million illegals, which latino's make up 60%.  the rest are, and not in order of %, indian, european, african, middle eastern, southwest asia.  we immigrate ONE MILLION EVERY YEAR.  no real NEED to import illegals.  go through the process.  prove assimilation and proficiency.

http://www.usnews.com/blogs/peter-roff/2009/07/06/democrats-admit-that-their-cap-and-trade-bill-is-a-job-killer.html

According to Friday's Washington Times, the legislation includes language that provides, should it become law, that people who lose their jobs because of it "could get a weekly paycheck for up to three years, subsidies to find new work and other generous benefits—courtesy of Uncle Sam."

How generous are these benefits? Well, according to the Times, "Adversely affected employees in oil, coal and other fossil-fuel sector jobs would qualify for a weekly check worth 70 percent of their current salary for up to three years. In addition, they would get $1,500 for job-search assistance and $1,500 for moving expenses from the bill's 'climate change worker adjustment assistance' program, which is expected to cost $4.2 billion from 2011 to 2019."

also, this was in the house bill that passed.

When selling your homes the Federal inspectors will be required to inspect you homes and have final say whether they will allow you to sell them.

You will have to upgrade your furnaces and air conditioning systems. Price them and you will see that they cost around 50% more than a typical system. You will have to add at least double pane windows throughout you homes. Not an inexpensive cost. Add some insulation. Change your appliances to greener ones.

and more.

This has been going on for years....when i was a young union man and getting layoffs due to chinese imports.( 70's and 80's )..it was called  TRA...trade reajustment allowance....since then every economic downturn has its " programs" for union manufacturing jobs....its a part of the package...thats  why they call it orgainzed labor.  you would have to have been a union member to even know it existed then i figure, no big hub bub about then.......organized labor has alot to offer, i dont see why everone is so down on it...disorganized labor doesn't get a whole lot......and never will
First of all...not knowing how long they are going to go back to qualify for this program.....the oil / gas and fossil ( coal ) jobs are long gone in numbers....unless they go back 10/ yrs or so ....theres no one left to qualify ?....it is the government program remember...most places have just closed down after theyve been at these levels...down as far as they can go....those " would be"  the ones that may qualify i believe.....

the athens county ohio officials allready tell me if i can or cant sell my home ( septic inspections with newer improved regulations)...i can live there as long as i like.....but when possion changes... new codes apply....i hate being throttled....

reppublicans and democrates ARE representing amercians.....some just took there ball and went home ( thats an ole basketball clique)...jbarl

Wasn't the "stimulus package" a government handout? It won't create jobs. If they would have got out of the way cut taxes and not spent a dime we would have been better off.Government doesn't create anything they should just stand back and get out of entrepaneurs road.jmo....stinky pants.

"It’s amazing to me how many people think that voting to have the government give poor people money is compassion.  Helping poor and suffering people yourself is compassion.  Voting for our government to use guns to give money to help poor and suffering people is immoral self-righteous bullying laziness.  People need to be fed, medicated, educated, clothed, and sheltered. If we’re compassionate, we’ll help them, but you get no moral credit for forcing other people to do what you think is right.  There is great joy in helping people, but no joy in doing it at gunpoint. "

it's always easier if you can vote to make sure you use someone else's time and money to do the things you want, hence the new proposed tax on people providing jobs, of course by democrats, who could do a better job if they would just use their own money.  you wouldn't have to take that 30-50% hit by funneling it through government.  but the key here is obvious, using force to get others to do what you want.

we get done with a 14 million dollar/day war, cash flow will start to run a little closer to the channel as well...we have to have those wars from time to time....so the entrepanures can have the right to do what they do so well......jbarl
