I agree...on mature Hereford cows, I'm not sure a calving ease bull with below average growth is the direction I would go, but I've heard people like those calves all right. I haven't used him, and he's not on my radar at all. He's heterozygous black, so you should expect about half the calves to be red and half of them black. You should get baldies, of course, out of those cows.
I would also look at the Upgrade sons...we've used a bull called Integrate that I've heard good things about. W/C United is making some really nice calves, but he's a SimAngus, so you'd end up with 1/4 SM 1/4 AN instead of halfbloods if that matters. We have our first Hooks Yellowstone on the ground, and I'm pretty excited about him! I'm also looking at some Cow Camp bulls this fall...CCR Wide Range, CCR Gravity, and CCR Spartan.
