I hate to claim to be a full fledged geek, but we use Windows Movie Maker. I have used some other pricey programs, but for what we did on our website with cattle, Windows Movie Maker does enough. You can add text, transitions and edit pretty easily. The other thing is that if you are accustom to using windows based programs, it runs very similar. The learning curve is minimal that way. Just remember all that you add to the video and the length you make it determines the time it takes, for people you want to see it, load it. Not everyone is on cable or roadrunner.
