What results can I expect from feeding Vitaferm's Sure Champ? Anyone use it?

The breeder of my son's steer suggested we feed Vitafirm's Sure Champ.  I would like to hear from others that have used it.....what benefits did you get?  What exactly did it do for your cattle??

We use it a great deal--I think the most noticeable benefit is the overall health of the cattle. They seem to stay on feed better when hauled or stressed, and just maintain a good, consistent appetite. It is not a "Shag-type" product as far as hair growth, etc. in my opinion.  We use other products in addition to Sure Champ for hair, bloom, etc.

USE IT!!!!! It is a great product. We used it last year, started about May. We had a hereford heifer up at Michigan Beef Expo, we started feedin in may like I said, and come state fair time a very reputable breeder from Indiana, came up to us when we were down at state and said he'd never seen someone put bloom on a heifer that fast. Now we feed it all year round to all the calves. It is an awesome product, extremely palatable, keeps them on feed in high times of stress, increased in our rate of gain (but that has a lot of variables), and really gives a nice shine to their hair coat. It runs about 21$ a bag here, but imo it's well worth it.

We use it, noticed a definite increase in appetite. I'm going to start mixing it in the creep feed for the commercial cattle as well. Runs about $22/bag here in NC.

we started using it this year like it so far plus has the added amaferm to help feed the bugs in the guts, and ya got to keep them happy. runs around 22 bucks a bag

We have been feeding Shure Champ for around ten years, and I wouldn't change. The main thing I notice with it is how the amaferm helps keep them on feed. I definitely reccommend anybody to use it in there show feed.

Sooooooooooooo, other than keeping them on feed, any other benefits?  My son's steer is eating fine, will this help him put on more finish?  What would be the difference between in Sure Champ and High Octane's Power fuel or Champion drive?

Power Fuel is a fat supplement, Champion Drive is more similar to Show Bloom--very different products. Sure Champ would most closely resemble Champion Drive (between those 2 products).  I guess you have to figure out what you need first, then find the right supplement. I like Sure Champ--but if you are convinced you don't need it, then by all means don't feed it......

I'm not convinced either way...... it was recommended by our breeder.  It's $26.50 a bag here and I just want to know what I can expect to gain by feeding it.  High Octane was suggested first as a possible supplement, but we were later told to feed Sure Champ.  Just wondering if one would be better than the other for my son's steer.  I posted pics of him last week on SP looking for comments and suggestions.  I know there are many people on SP with tons of experience.....being as I have none, I am always open to suggestions and advice.  Thanks!!

Thanks for the link--since hair is not an issue, and you don't show until Feb., I would use the Sure Champ. If you have your own feed mixed you might want to replace some of the protein you are currently using with Sure Champ--that way you would keep your protein % very similar and still gain some of the advantages of the Vita-ferm...and your net cost wouldn't be drastically different from you current feed.   That being said, your steer may also benefit from a fat supplement closer to your show date--i.e. Power Fuel.   Any of that make any sense?!?
