sorry, don't have a more side view pic...  This pic is a couple years old, and so I'll not be able to walk out back and take one.

Just looking to get him ripped apart by the triangle trio.

Tough angle which you already said.

I like him, mostly because he has a clubby look.

Big boned, long bodied, long neck, lots of hair, big footed, appears to be good topped, clean front, big belly, etc..

My concerns are all about his back legs, and I don't know if it is him or the photo angle.  It APPEARS as if there is no flex in his pasterns AT ALL, and it goes right on up.  Really straight.  Again, tough angle combined with that much hair......can be misleading.

Some might say he has too much shoulder, but I am not sure how you are going to get a big square butt like that without a little bit of shoulder.  FOR ME, I will take the shoulder if he will pass on the thickness and the hair.  He looks like a steer making machine to me!!

I would really like to know how he turned out, and see some pictures of his calves.

The whole story is he was turned out with 40 cows a couple weeks after this picture was taken b/c of a lack of a mature bull. He has never had a break, and breeds prob 50 cows a year. He lives on cedar and rocks.  I know his age is starting to catch up to him, and show-- but still I think it would be nearly impossible for a Shorthorn bull to do this today in most places.

He's now 6 or 7 years old, and only with 40 cows due to the drought sell down.

Here is a couple of his daughters, but to be honest, we don't have much from him as they're always the ones to go to sales and get picked by buyers.

He covered 40 cows as a 12 month old ?

Yes, as a yearling- he was in rough shape- and they were spread out-- but that was the only option at the time.  It was turn this bull in, or have open cows.

I wasn't involved back then- only going off what I was told O0

All of the pictures of this bull and pictures of his progeny have a couple things in common.  Most importantly, they all appear to share the same basic real leg design. I personally find it a little poor, being too short and upright in their pastern, leading to their hock being a bit enlarged.  They also appear to walk on the outside of their feet, rather than squarely on them. I can't say these things are a certainty, as I haven't seen any of these cattle in person.  He is a massive and powerful bull, and probably does more good than harm on the cows he's had exposed to him.

Another picture to shred apart- took this morning out in the lot.  Sun was shining, and he didn't have a ton of mud in him.

Attached a straight from behind view too-- for those of you who think one foot forward from the 3/4 rear view- yields an upside down triangle..  O wait, it does-- until you look straight from behind.

Although, he's not the most muscular bull in the world- I' think there is plenty their for a heifer bull.

Disposition, is awesome- 2 times a halter on, he's broke enough to lead through the yard- ask my feed guy!
