Wanting advice/suggestions/thoughts about some of the better can't miss,(thumb in cheek), Red Angus bulls that are producing great uddered, moderate sized, easy keeping maternal cows please. Would prefer bulls with some accuracy behind them if possible. The heifer that I am matching up with is a Messmer Packer x Mlk Crk Cub. I do not care if the bull is heifer safe. More concerned about the traits listed above by far. Thanks in advance.

Thanks DL. I did go to Buffalo Creek's site to try to look @ herd Sires and did not find him there, but ran accross a bull in their ref. cat. named Re Hill 13R Ripper 28U that caught my attention. Anyone out there tried him or know anything about him? Reg.# 1233740.
Thanks Cryatlbeth. Iam looking for a 1A registered bull for this one & do not care about CE.

Brent- We've been having good luck with Norseman King and one of his sons.  They're all about 5.5 frame with great udders. They're not real flashy females, but they've made great cows.

Mark, he is on my radar screen & maybe the bull to go to. Squirt 71  has some really, really good Fat Tony x Vacation 2011 spring heifers that they are hoping to take to Denver that I hope will do well out there & while talking about Squirt 71's cattle, they have what I think would  be the perfect recip cows, Tarentaze,(sp), x Red Angus or black Angus F-1s. That cross milks hard without requiring too much feed.

Squirt 71 IYO, do the Norsman King cattle have enough guts to them and are they softer looking cattle? How are the heifers coming along? Brent

The heifers are looking great! We clipped them up last weekend, I hope when I head down for Christmas I can get a few pictures and I'll put them up.  The breds have really filled out, and the opens have grown some and have filled out also. Our Norseman Kings are soggy cows.  I'll dig around on my computer and find a couple pictures of them.

And funny you should mention those Tarentaise X cows.  Our plan is to use them heavily as recips next year.  They weaned off some great crossbred calves this year.

Buffalo Creek had their final dispersal last week - unfortunately (for me) I didn't get the Hobo semen bought - there is still some around - he is an older bull 307777

Ripper is a bull I was interested in - his dam is from the Barmaid cow family with Julian B571 on top (great maternal bull - semen way out of my league :). Another bull that I liked and have calves coming is Red Hill Julian 84S - I think either would work with your cow. Seth Leachman can probably tell you about any of the Buffalo Creek bulls as he organized the sales

I like the Sakic females I've seen and I'm also a fan of the Berry Cherry's.

Does anyone know anything about the Ter-Ron Real Deal bull? I heard yesterday that he won again @ the Regina show. Looks like he should add capacity and foot size. Don't know how pretty fronted cattle out of him will be, but I don't know if that is a big deal to me as of right now.

New Trend 22D, Sequoia, High Capacity 224, Mulberry 26P, Chateau 774, Logan 210, Rambo 502 are some of the short list bulls. Semen can be hard to find on some of them. RCR

Yup, that's about the list that I was emailed...

Cool thing, 3 of the 7 can be found within 6 generations of our bull- and a bunch share similar ancestors...

Getting back into the red angus with this Mulberry Mar. daughter.    She looks to be coming on like what your are looking for in a cow.  We also had a Chateaux cow that was very maternal.  The Reds are making thier way to our area again and we are glad to see it.  We call it our different "flavor".

We purchased a bull from Six Mile Ranch in 2008 and we are very impressed with his daughters. Moderate framed, awesome uddered and they all calved with super ease.  His name is Red Six Mile Tidal Wave 254T.  He is a Towaw Indeed 104H son and you probably know that Indeed is infamous for his ability to produce females.  Tidal Wave also possesses these qualities with his females, but with an added show cattle look to them.  We will have a few of his offspring at the National Western Stock Show this year.  Come stop by the Lodoen Cattle Company stall to see the work of both Tidal Wave and his daughters!

Thanks Stuart, Herfluvr, & LMB. Your heifers look very good. Looks & sounds like there will be a bunch of great Red Angus cattle show up @ NWSS. I'm not planning on going this year again. I purposely have avoided Denver the last few years to not tempt myself with some new bull. It somewhat has kept me out of the doghouse some nights.

LMB, do you have a web-site or pictures of your bull? Reg#? Thanks.

I like the Beckton Lancer f442 line. Not really showring cattle. Very moderate growth.Moderate milk. Excellent carcass data. I think a great choice for a semi-arid enviroment.
