Yes they went to the sale barn. Heifer calves 5,6,7 weights at the most brought 1.10. I didn't sell any heifers this year as hay is on the cheaper side. A lot of yearling guys in my area took a huge hit! One producer lost 200/hd on his steers and 350/hd on his heifers, and he runs 900-1000 head...

There are not many things anymore that suprise me, but the price feeder calves are bringing are getting tough to take. Today in Missoula I sold some of the or June steer calves that weighed 501 and they brought 1.25 per pound, and keep in mind these were the top of the market for 5 weight...

I agree not a whole lot of eye appeal. He is out of a first calf heifer born the first of May . 74 lb birthweight. I will probably end up cutting him but there are certain times he stands or moves in a way that make him look like he will turn into something.

The calfs sire is the bull Wally calls Harvey Fulton. Grandson of ransom 32z I beleive twice. And the double leader bull of Wally is straight shorthorn. I have some other calves by him and they are stout! I started off these deal a little worried but the calves are coming along

This is a double leader daughter and her calf. As you can see she is not the biggest or faniest cow but she is a cow I wish to build a herd around. This little cow weighs maybe 1200 pounds and this fall her heifer calf will weigh 650. This is only her second calf and I think she is doing pretty...
