She's a good looking heifer who is really feminine. it's hard to tell from the picture, but she may be a little tight out of her hip bc it looks like she's a notch roached up and straight. Again, it may be how she's standing.
My first thought when reading your post. We've had calves losing patches of hair on their shoulders also and the cause was lice. Pour them consistently a the pour's recommended intervals to make sure you thoroughly treat it.
Looks like a good easy feeding steer that has some width and muscling to him. He could use more flash and style for the show ring but he's definitely one of those solid steers that you have to appreciate.
I have a 870 lb steer that I want to feed Natural Stride to but I have never used it before. When do you suggest starting them on it and how much do they get fed? This steer will be shown at some jackpots in the spring but we're mostly focused on our county fair the last week of July. Any feed...
As of right now Redlands Community College is doing really well with major wins at national contests. Butler Blackhawk and Connors are other competitive teams but it is like any sports teams, it can change from year to year. Also if ur looking at going to these colleges you have to realize that...
Nice showy heifer but she drops off from pins to hooks and appears to have too much set to her hock and have possible soundness issue but i'd have to see her in motion.
The wonderful subject of classifying..... ANgus is extremely difficult. Of course it depends A LOT on where you are showing him and what the rules are. When i personally look at him I think cross with maine. If where you are going to show him is like our fair where people in the club can...

Extremely sound and docile as they come with plenty of bone and foot to go along with that. He has been tied for a week and already is leading to the wash racks and chute. Hasn't been under any fans or in a cooler at all, all...
All i can say is that I am in no way impressed with yellow jacket. You have to get really lucky to get a good one in my opinion. Also I have broke about 5 yellow jackets and they are little Karate Kids in the making.
I agree with rackranch! Start at the ground always!! If they don't have any natural width as a calf they will not have it in the future, same with structural correctness. He needs to be able to move with flex and comfort and make sure he is not straight fronted. Look for a calf that not only has...
