My old man told me today that when he was showing they used to have a guy who went out west and bought 100-120 head of very similar steers. Drawed out of a hat and whatever number that was is the eartag on your new calf. All prices were feeder calf prices and a little cost for the shipping. Then...

We always have all the cows on pasture from about may to september and rarely fed hay along with them until late august and we are doing it already and 100 degrees called for on thursday to boot here in Ohio!

Am I the only one who thinks this is a load of crap?

Im not in any way putting anybody down, I just want to know the intentions of putting 100 dollar semen(monopoly) into brahman, brangus, and simbrah cows. And if the owner of these cattle are on here Id love to know...I mean aren't these breeds worth more purebred?

Lets say you have a very nice donor cow paired up with a proven maternal bull and you calve a nice healthy heifer calf and she turns out to look like shit. No matter what do you keep her as a cow?

Any word or calf pictures on this brother to monoply yet?
