    IVF

Did it this year on a heifer that wouldn't flush naturally.  We froze 5 on one mating and went 4 out of 5, 7 on another and went 2 out of 7, and 3 on another and went 1 out of 3. All are heifer pregnancies were frozen embryos and rate conception was 47% and they were in our very best recips with...

    Excalibur calves?

We have 4 calves on the ground out of our Pays To Dream donor. All stout, sound, hairy, with a real cool look to them.  Birthweights were all over, all 4 were et calves 2 heifer and 1 bull were in the 70's and the other bull was high 80's.  My recommendation is use him on extremely big bodied...

Hoof Trimmer cent. IL or IN

Have used both Cagwin and Zumbahlens.  Jeff was very good and a nice guy just too far away for us.  Bill and Mike Zumbahlen are great people that do an awesome job and would recommend them to anyone, we have been using them for over 10 years and we couldnt be happier.

    Beet Pulp

IMO Beet pulp can add fat to the front lower 1/3 I have seen it happen, but don't know what causes it possibly the molasses in it.  We try to use cottonseed hulls to add fill when were trying to hold one.

    Honda side by side

They are getting to be more popular around here, I think alot of it has to do with being newer to the side by side market. I know of 2 different people that have went to Honda from a Polaris Ranger and said they can't believe how much better it is.  We have put a ton of miles on ours in a year...

    Pays to Dream

Our Pays to Dream donor is out of a Legacy x Antoinette K205 cow, so she is double bred legacy.  Her mom is has plenty of body but she probably has more  body than her mom and i have seen other matings out of the cow that were not as big bodied as the Pays to Dream mating.  I would say he is a...

    Pays to Dream

He will soften one up and add body. All the one's we had have a very good look to them, are great fronted, stout, and super sound . We have used him on various type's of cows and are very pleased with all of them.  Attached is a picture of our donor who is sired by him and the one that really...

    PETA is at it again!!

Cut the BS I do get what you mean in terms of genetic diversity on a national level in terms of breed as a whole, I was referring to the opportunity to use different genetics on producer level in being able to access genetics that in alot of cases you wouldn't be able to afford to get your hands...

    PETA is at it again!!

How will no use of a.i. broaden genetic options? If you can't a.i. then there will be no e.t. work either.

    Upgrade or American Pride ?

Saw American Pride at JF's sale last fall and at the time I did not think he looked alot different than the pic. If you have ever seen bulls at stud they will look alot different after being at stud for a little while than being at home, since i haven't seen him at stud i can't say but upgrade...

    embryo flush question

Ccowboy when is the right time?  We switched from using 3 straws to now just using 2 straws since we were using more expensive semen.  Since we switched to two call it luck but we have had 100% fertilized eggs on 6 different flushes. We breed at 12 and 24 hours after on-set of standing heat and...

Adkins Mr Right On- Simmental bull question

I have been around the bull alot last summer and early fall. He is long bodied, long and clean fronted, and has alot of thickness while being very sound and correct for a two year old bull on the road. He is probably a low 6 on frame not small but not real big.  I wouldnt worry too much about...

    judging cattle(simmental)

I would say being sound and correct are number one in the majority of judges priorities then it comes down to preference for the rest. My personal opinion it goes 1. soundess 2. Volume/Rib shape and capacity 3. Power 4. Frontend and balanced package. There is alot of things to consider the best...

    Using TWCC Trendsetter

I wouldnt say he is any different than the other big bulls out in denver. Trendsetter was a pretty cool looking bull out there in Denver.Enough power, great fronted, with plenty of body.  He is sound but you wouldnt want to mate him to a cow that is on the straighter side regarding her pasterns...
