    A Good Laugh

Just saw this on Facebook, they did a Yahoo "Odd News" story about this: http://news.yahoo.com/video/internet-users-fall-love-fluffy-214408897.html

    Ways to attract new customers

Thanks Jason and SD. We have a website that has a ton of pictures and lists all our sale animals with links to video.  I maintain the website, so it's constantly updated.  I have Google analytics installed as well at Stat Counter.  We have a Facebook page, but haven't ventured into Twitter yet...

    Ways to attract new customers

We've been trying to brainstorm on ways to attract new customers.  We're purebred breeders (who show a little on the side), and in the past have sold bulls and females on a first come basis.  We'd like to have a private treaty weekend (or something along those lines) but are at a bit of a loss...

Looking for a red angus bull

We were pretty excited about him and thought he'd match up well on our cows.  The calves look great even at this young stage - they're really stout, but it was kind of a bummer that they came out so big.  We have a few left to calve out of some even lower BW females, maybe those won't be so big...

Looking for a red angus bull

I'd be a little careful with Sun King.  We AI'd a bunch of cows to him this year, and every single one of them have been over 95 lbs most inching towards the 110 lb range, and this is on purebred RA females.  The BW is not coming from the cows either, they've all averaged 80 lbs in the past. ...

What to AI Angus heifer to?

Really? That's news to me, I'll have to check into it. Thanks

What to AI Angus heifer to?

We got some disappointing test results on our Angus heifer, and now cannot register her due to being an AM carrier.  We think she's too good to send to the feedlot, and are exploring some options on breedings.  We're throwing around breeding her to a clubby or Simmental bull and selling the...

    herd management software

Cow Sense was a couple hundred when we bought it 20 years ago, I'm not sure what the pricing is now.

    herd management software

We've been using Cow Sense since 1993 and really like it.  Cow Sense archives all of the animals that have left the herd, from death to cull to sent to the feedlot with disposal codes, so we can still look up those animals. I can send registration info into the associations easily. We can enter...

    Worth buying a blower?

SDSU doesn't have a show team (at least none that I've ever heard about).  But they do have a competition called Little International in April where you can show a bull or heifer (or a horse, hog, lamb or dairy heifer that they raise out at the Animal Units) and compete against other college...

    animal science universities

I am a South Dakota State alum, I majored in Animal Science and minored in Ag Business, Ag Marketing, and Business.  My sister, her boyfriend, my sister-in-law, and my cousin also went there and graduated with Animal Science majors.  I currently work for a cattle management software program, my...

    Herd Bull Time

CAB, we picked out a couple of the top RA cows to not AI and just to let him breed for that purpose. We're anxious to see his calves next spring.

    red angus heifers~opinions welcome

We did a final clip before the show this weekend.  I wasn't able to get a good pic of everybody, they were too busy exploring the pasture after we kicked them out to get them to loosen up a little before heading out to Denver.

    Wanting Red Angus maternal bulls

The heifers are looking great! We clipped them up last weekend, I hope when I head down for Christmas I can get a few pictures and I'll put them up.  The breds have really filled out, and the opens have grown some and have filled out also. Our Norseman Kings are soggy cows.  I'll dig around on...

    Wanting Red Angus maternal bulls

Brent- We've been having good luck with Norseman King and one of his sons.  They're all about 5.5 frame with great udders. They're not real flashy females, but they've made great cows.
