    Dying show cattle!!

Some shows dont allow painting or dying. Read your guidlines before you do anything. I would put vitamin E cream on it 2x a day it will help repair the skin and encourage hair growth. And if it really comes down to it when you clip her for the show glue some of the hair to the spot. I know it...

Do you think he's coming along?

I would up his feed to about 2.5% of his body weight. It is always good to have a target weight but remember that it has to fit that animal. You want to take him in at the weight that he looks best at. Vitaferm is awesome! I love it works wonders! I would also put him on a supplement like...

    MTG

I love that stuff!! It smells really bad and leaves your hands super oily but it works! I have used it on my horse's tail, lamb's hocks, and on my steers rear end! It works really good if you put a plastic bag around whatever you are trying to grow hair on. I only do that with my horse's tail...

    shampoo ?

I use Clear Choice. I have heard of people using Dawn and putting it in a gallon of water with mane and tail conditioner to make "training" the hair easier. My show is a slick show so I never tested that combo!

    SWEATING A NECK BELOW FREEZING??

I've been wondering the same thing. Whenever I take my steers sweat collar off at night when its chilly outside it doesnt even look sweaty or anything under there. Do you know if the lotion actually works?? I've heard it does and some say it doesn't. I am kind of up in the air with it but if I...

    opinions on steer

From my own personal experience I would put him on SureChamp Vitaferm with Amnaferm. After putting my steer on it for about 2 weeks he was a totally different looking animal. I highly reccomend putting him on that now. I really like his hip its looks like he is going to have a lot of power...

    Steer opinions please.

Actually we don't. There is just a handful of steers that look like show steer the rest look like feed lot calves. Mine looked like a skinny feed lot calf when I got him but after a few months of pouring the feed to him he started to fill out and look like a show steer.  Most of them have...

Thank you!!  :) His back isn't that straight but I try to fix that with the show stick. Also I am going to put some more fat on his top line to give him a fresher and cleaner top.
