Here's three pics I found that I thought might be of interest to Shorty breeders.
The first is a two year old son of TG Kookaburra, who a few people on here have used. He was bound for the Dubbo National sale but sold privately beforehand to a commercial producer as a result of an offer that couldn't be refused.
The second is a Belmore sire, Fuel Injected V12, who has also been used in the Durham project. He is also the sire of the 2005 national champion, Ipswich Y189. V12 left a tremendous, even line of females, as well as bulls.
The third is a cow by the name of Trevino Patsy 144th. She is one of the breed's true matrons. She had 7 calves - all bulls - and 5 went on to be top sires (one has been marketed by Semex). The other 2 sold to commercial producers. She's interesting in that her EBVs put her well below average for both birthweight and growth, however all her sons have had high growth, good calving ease and tremendous carcase traits. This is helped in part by some of their powerful sires, however each son has bred similar animals which haven't lacked any performance. Have a look at her figures and you'll see what I mean... http://abri.une.edu.au/online/cgi-bin/i4.dll?1=313021&2=2420&3=56&5=2B3C2B3C3A&6=5C255B5B2421232322&9=50595D59
I'll see what other pics I can find.
