I suppose this has more to do with where your from and what your used to.  But, i'm thankful everyday for no humidity, no mud, an ice storm being a rarity, being able to walk across the corral right after a 2 inch rain and work cattle in it as quick, great hills for protection, one person for every two sections, and 50 times as many cow-calf mammas as that, 50 degree nights with low humidity in the summer to grow hair.  would take 5 more inches of rain annually though. I'm sure we're all biased. But i'll take the sandhills any day.

Sandhills,  Yes it's remote but a great place to raise cattle.  I'd rather calve on sand then my mud in Eastern Nebraska.

Pictures were taken by Freddy(on Fred Ranch) Rose, NE.

The Parker Ranch on the big island of Hawaii was pretty impressive as far as all the different climate zones go.  Darn long way from anything else though!!

Jill, the two ranches you are referring to are the Donahue ranch, which is located on HWY 50 outside of the big town of Cedar Point, and the other is White ranch, which is/was owned by the late Clay White.  Donahue's have ranch ground all over Marion County, as well as Donahue trailer division, basically as far as Durham.  If I had a choice, I would take the old Rhoades Ranch, which is located north of Durham Kansas, on Hwy 15.  7 sections that are contiguous and another 12-15 sections that are within 15 miles of the headquarters.  Good grass, shelter, good fence, good water and GATES THAT OPEN without the need of a crowbar.

Thank you, I have passed those a thousand times going back and forth to Huch, but couldn't remember the name for the like of me.  I'll have to take a trip down 15 and see that one.
