Mr. Lautner doesn't have any control over what Joe Blo sells his Heatwave semen at.  If someone will pay $100 bucks/straw, then that's how much it costs.  And even if Mr. Lautner doesn't indicate a price increase, that doesn't mean there won't be one, especially if the Heatwave's don't produce semen to meet demand.

wait, someone can charge what they want?

Then the wealth needs to be redistributed (lol).

Just means you either have to give some HW semen to someone that doesn't have any or the money to buy it, or give them the money to buy some...or you might as well just breed your best cows with HW semen, then give them the calves.

All the prices on the web mean is that they are behind on updating their sites which is nothing new.

One thing I didn't include in that report on Cattle.com is the Wave on Wave semen went for $80/straw right after the Heat Wave semen averaged over $170/straw.

I would be curious as to who bought the HW semen at Deiters???

Chambero, the coyote thing would definetly piss me off....  I would probably go on a coyote/stray dog killing spree for awhile after that...  Or get a deer carcass and lace it with strychnine or something

Just didn't have my gun with me that morning.  We usually keep them thinned down pretty good this time of year.

I have had similar problems with HW calves.  Not necessarily huge at birth, but I have experienced a lack of will in the calves.  If you can get them born alive and then get them to nurse and make it a couple weeks, they are nice, but too many that would rather die than get up and give you a chance.

Thank you for also posting the Wave on Wave price.  I didn't have sale book in front of me and couldn't remember.  Also, with this info in hand, don't ya think the price of HW and at least HW1 will be going up, if and when the suppliers get some back in stock...  if not, it will be amazing.

You and me both Dusty.  I figured it would be in the 100-125 range...but it never got that low.
