What kind of cows does Yellow Jacket work on?

One of the best calves we saw last summer was a Yellow Jacket.  Also, we have seen some that were not as impressive.  What kind of cow do we need to have in mind? Thanks.

What should a contract for leasing a bull look like?

We haven't done this before.  We haven't advertised to lease, they have come to us.  I am sure these people will take care of our bull, but I am uncomfortable not having some kind of a contract.  He needs to come back in good shape, ready to breed here.  I know he could die at our place so I...

    Reusing CIDRs Question

We follow Chambero's protocol except we store them in brown paper bags (suggested by our embryologist).  I'm sure refrig would work as well but we need refrig space.  Have had nearly 100% of our cows set up for implant over past 2 yrs.  Another interesting note, another embryologist in our area...

    Breeding question/problem Please Help

You can even see them stand when they are bred.  We made the mistake of setting up a cow we thought was open because we had seen her standing.  Long story short, we aborted her calf.  The rule here is preg check before we set them up for breeding even if we have seen them stand. A neighbor was...

Is there such a thing as.....

Yes, plenty of them.  I have several partners who couldn't be better.  Also, I have made somel transactions here on SP & found each of these individuals to be trustworthy.  A successful program got there by being honest & can't afford to conduct business any other way.  Look around if you...

Cow with Stifle injury...how do I go about treatment?

I'd love to hear of any treatment that works.  Some of our best have ended up this way.  We aggressively flushed them a few times and took them to the sale barn.  You want to make sure they don't get down before you sell them because you not only lose the money you would have had if you sold...

    Rowe Feed??

We use Rowe feed.  Had grand champion steer & grand champion heifer at our county fair.  Is several dollars cheaper than feed others use in this area.  Most of all, calves eat it well.

    Dirty calf need help

EZ-All works wonders.  Spray it on with the foamer, let it set for a little while & a curry comb will take it out.  You can also use a squirt bottle.  We use it routinely with great results.

    Sullivan's show box - SOLD

I have a 5' Sullivan's show box with black padded top.  Has been kept inside at all times. Has moveable tray, slot in lid for papers & clips in lid for showstick.  Look through classifieds for a similar one that sold for 320 with blue top to see what mine looks like (on page 3 at this time). Two...
