    Shaving/clipping cows

It's summer time now and we are taking cows to pasture next week. We noticed that a few of our cows have a lot more hair that they didn't shuck. What blade/clipper combo do you use? We have our regular head clippers as well as an older "sheep" head. Also I've seen a few photos going around...

    Clipping vs Fitting Fees

When we buy our show calves, our guy has a mark up on them to cover help at shows. This includes clipping before shows, hoof trimming, fitting at shows, and feeding/showing advice. Depending on the show he factors in travel, hotel, food, and of course fitting. Also to give a different...

    AI question

I had a guy tell me when I was learning that it's ok to use two straws if you aren't sure if it stuck. Semen is cheep $25-50 usually. It pays for itself even with a $1500 calf. A lot of producers goal is to get a live calf, an extra $25 is minor

Our 5 year old sister just showed for the first time at Iowa Beef Expo. She is now super excited for showing not just winning  (clapping)
