    Suggestions on Simmental bulls

We bred a few cows to Big Deal this year, cows that have clicked with the Steel Force sons out there as we wanted to get some of the 770 cow influence. Our calves are young, but look to be correct and big topped for their age.  We did get one with quite a bit of white out of a cow that only has...

    Replacement making Simmi bull

I have always liked the In Dew Time females that we have around.  We have had very few issues with those cows, they breed back, keep their condition, and have very nice udders.  They aren't high growth animals, but they aren't bad either.  We have sold bulls and heifers out of those cows.  I...

    Experimenting with Angus

We have been using O'reilly Factor for a few years on Simmental heifers and have liked those calves for their growth and capacity.  First heifers have been good mothers as well.  Also using Bush's Unbelievable on those Simmi heifers that we are wanting to put a better front into. We don't do any...

    Hubbard Feeds

I got a quote of $430 a ton for the nutribase mixed, with corn, oats, cottonseed hulls, molasses, and a little fat. Does that sound about right.  The ration we had made in the past was usually $50 to $80 a ton cheaper

    Hubbard Feeds

I checked the previous threads, and didn't see too much on anyone using Hubbard show feeds.  Is anyone using their feeds for show heifers?  Thinking about mixing our own using the Nutribase Plus. Any feedback would be great.

    Dream On Bull

We have used him, and he has been highly used in the industry.  He is about as good of numbered bull that  you will find.  They easy enough calving with top notch growth.  They will have muscle and good base width, from my experience you need to watch the feet a little bit.  I wouldn't say they...

    Red and black genetics

BH is heterozygous black.  Both parents carried a black and red gene.  In this bulls case he received two red genes, this would happen 25% of the time on this mating. The other 75% would be black, with 25% being homozygous black.

    fbf1 combustible

We have used him on a few cows with good results.  Sold a nice bull out of him from last years calf crop. Front like his mother but big hipped big bellied and grew well. Was extremely docile. Have a really nice heifer out of him this year. Same deal big hipped, big bellied, bone, and pretty good...

    Best Simmental Bulls right now

Bringing this one back to the top.  Trying to get semen ordered. What is everyone liking this calf crop on Simmental calves? Mainly breeding for some heifers to show, but need to make cows and be able market some of the bull calves. That being said we are trying to select bulls bull with...

    What Simmental Bull to use?

Broker's bw epd ranks him in the bottom 10 percent in the breed with relatively high accuracy. His calving ease ranks him in the bottom 1%. I wouldn't put him on heifers. There are some good ones out there though.
