    Be Afraid!

I don't believe this is just stories. I live in an area that is feedlot country,  the small and private owned lots are going empty, out of business, or closed.  There is a 65,000 head capacity feedlot that has 12,000 head -- and lots of rumors going around about its future. The only lots...

What you think of the Bull Sooner

Well then-- maybe we are looking for something different.   I will give ya that Maverick is not going to stand out in a bunch of cross bred clubby bulls.   But for a pure bred Maines, I thought that Maverick and quite a few of Green Valleys bulls were impressive.  They seemed to have quite a bit...

What you think of the Bull Sooner

Have no idea if Sooner will stand the test of time-   but Green Valley did have impressive bulls from Sooner, and they sold very well.    Top bull was $32,000 and went to Lautner and he is selling semen on him as Maverick. Does anybody know which stud is collecting Maverick? About the only...

    Ear Corn

Have fed lots of ground ear corn and its great stuff. Only advice I have is that feeding finishing ration of 80% ear corn and 20% Purina fortifier is to much corn and needs to be cut with something. Yes - learned the hard way.    Acidosis from to much corn. Figure will still use the fortifier...

    old Maine bull Bad Medicine

Thanks for all the info from everybody.    I will let this one ride and see what I might get.  My first impression that I had when I seen the pedigree and the age of the bull was that he was probably very old and out of modern style.  The only thing that might be concerning me was the...
