Looks like we have a predator in our midst!!

Found these tracks in our barn yard last week, within 40 yards of our house.  Calving start in a month and we are just hoping this cat was just passing through.

    Posts being moved to Classifieds

I find it odd that some posts get moved to the classifieds section ("No Worries" @ Executive Sires) but yet other people can start posts about their upcoming bull sales and they don't get moved.

Video on CNN of Animal Abuse Warning

Seen this video on CNN of abuse taking place at a ranch in Texas, they are hitting calves over the head with hammers/pick axes.  Its very disturbing.  I live on a ranch and have all my life, we put animals down all the time when there is something wrong with them and its clear they are in pain...

    I hate age verification

Up here in Canada we have RFID tags and you have the chose to age verify your calves on the internet.  I use to be a really behind this b/c it was suppose to help get our cattle into extra markets over seas.  I still think that the RFID tags are a good thing just for the sake of point of orgin...

retaining the right to flush a heifer calf

Why do so many people do this? As a buyer I see this as huge turn off on bidding on that animal, usually we will talk to the seller before the sale to see if they are dead set on it or not and most are willing to drop it.  My thing is why even do it in the first place.  First off if I am going...

Buying Bull through the Auction Mart

This happened a few years ago.  We have a guy in our area that tries to sell bulls off his farm as purebred red angus even though he doesnt have a papered cow or a angus membership.  Well one of our neighbours bought one cause they were cheap but suprise the bull didnt breed a single animal b/c...

    Cloned Beef

With the recent talk about allowing cloned meat and milk on the market there seems to be alot of people against it.  It seems like adding wood to the fire to me as we see more people moving away from eating red meat due to all the studies and write ups that tell people that it is bad for you due...

    Taking advantage of angus.

I recently read a article up here in Canada talking about other breeds taking advantage of the angus breed by selling hybrid bull call maxi, suppers and so on.  Certian breeds can even register these animals and call them balancers and sell them as pure breds even thought it is evedent that they...
