    Clubby Bred Heifers/Cows- Good Mamas?

Our experience has been good with them. We have been keeping clubby heifers as replacements since 07. Among the sires of these females have been All About You, Eye Candy, Gigolo Joe, Boarwalk, Who Made Who, and Monopoly. From those cows we have kept some of those females that were sired by I-80...

    Daddy's Money Calves

We bred the same cows to I-80 and Daddy's Money in 2 consecutive years.  The I-80s for us are much better than the Daddy's Money calves.

    I-80 Gestations

We calved out 6 this year and all calved ahead of due dates.  6 days early on the average.

Bulls for second calvers to make show steers

From our experience, I-80 is the way to go.  At first we only used I-80 on THC cows, but now we would use him on THF cows as well. There's nothing wrong with Daddy's Money, but for us the I-80 calves have much more power to them. As far as calving ease, we found our Daddy's Money were smaller...

    Bad attitude bulls

We've had 30 or more Eye Candy calves and we have only had 1 with a bad attitude, in that case we blamed the cow.  We have replacement females from him that have never been a problem.

    Unstoppable Calves

We've had about 10 Unstoppable calves and they've all been quiet.

    PVF Insight produces bull calves

5 females, 4 males here.  Funniest thing was a split straw between 2 cows and both cows had twins.

    Semen canister question

It definitely happens, I have found it and done it.

    boardwalk calves

We've never had a problem with them for size.  Kept one as a cow and she's always had growthy calves as well.  All calves are structurally sound.

    Most maternal sire

We have Bismarck 4 year old cows who have been great mothers from the start.  I'm sure he is easy to get and affordable.

Yes, sounds exactly like our scenario.

found something unusual while breeding tonight

I had a similar experience a few years back and the cow was trying to calve at the time.  I had her examined by the vet who advised shipping her asap.

Favorite bulls for club calf mamas?

In our experience, breeding purebred angus cows back to club calf bulls works out very well.  We use proven bulls about 90% of the time. The other factor is that you need to have is good cows, doesn't matter what breed they are, they just need to be good.

    jose vs daddys money

I can only speak for Daddy's Money of the 2 bulls mentioned in the original post.  We had 5 calves from him and they ranged from 65 to 80 lbs.  All were unassisted, 1 male, 4 females.  They came out an Eye Candy 2 year old, a Monopoly and a Boardwalk 4 year old, an All About You 9 year old, and...

    Denver 2016 Bulls

I agree with BroncoFan for a number reasons, progeny is what makes our decision on the bulls to use.  That being said, we look at the sires/dams of the bulls that make it on display as  well as an indicator of what it working.  Being in Canada, we don't get too many "new" bulls from display in...

    Daddy's Money Calves

We have only had 3 so far, all heifers out of a Monopoly, All About You, and a Who Made Who cow.  On average they are coming 8 days early and ranging from 65 to 70 lbs at birth.  No complaints so far as far as how they look, but it's very early.  We'll see where they are at by mid summer.  We...

Need calving ease bull for Monopoly, MAB, Monopoly Money, BIM daughters

On Boardwalk, Eye Candy, and Monopoly first calvers, we used Gigolo Joe, I-67, and Right Answer successfully.  This year, we are using Insight on our clubby heifers.
