    Simple Man calves

I was at Vansickle's a couple of weeks ago...he had a couple on the ground that I thought looked real nice. One was a smoke out of his Dr.Who x Charlois donor and the other was out of a first calf HW. Both were heifers.  I think that bull will definitely stouten them up and keep them chubby and...

    I-80 calves

Agreed with cattle lover, he is not the biggest creature in the world, hence that is why he is being promoted as a "potential" calving ease. For my 2 cents, he was nicely balanced, long necked, and sound. For the amount of muscle that he had, I thought that his bone and foot size was nice.  We...

    I-80 calves

I saw the bull back in September at Lautners running in the pasture when we stopped by to look at calves, and I have to agree with Shaggy, he was in my opinion a very nice complete bull that was having absolutely no problem getting around.  I am not saying that he is the next coming of christ or...

    Indian outlaw

My semen quality seemed ok, we bred 5 fall calvers to him, and got 4 pregnant. Ultrasounded them, 3 bulls, 1 heifer coming.

Does anybody know who is judging the junior show, more specifically the heifer show?

    Amen or eyecandy?

If I am correct, I do not think there was any Amen semen available for spring 2011 calves. We are expecting a few of them for fall 2011.  I am pretty excited, I love Friction fat steers and the right Friction females make awesome cows, just hope the Amens are a little more fertile than friction...

    Colts vs Jets

Agreed that Peyton does sometimes get tight in the playoffs, and I also agree that there is not a team in the AFC this year should be able to touch the Patriots, however with the colts, I think that there are alot of unknown factors.  Luckily, Wayne is not the only target out there, Garcon...

    Colts vs Jets

Colts win at home... Not only is Peyton Manning the best QB in the league, as well as being a great individual for kids to look up to, there have been a lot of people step up for the team with all the injurys...From Tamme, Donald Brown and the receent "re-addtion" of Dominic Rhodes, to Tryon and...

    Your most recomended showday products...

Sullivans Freshen Up..it is actually made for sheep, but it is awesome for the cattle's hair, really helps keep it moisturized. I have not found anything that remotely will make the hair pop or keep the hide as soft as this stuff. We use it at home a couple of times a week also.  Definitely...

    Nowatzke's new Herdsire prospect.

I saw this bull at Barry's back before Thanksgiving, unclipped running in a lot with about 5 other bulls.  For a sooner, this guy is legit. He definitely does not need anymore rib, and is plenty good enough moving I thought. The day we were there, the ground was frozen and he was hitting his...

    simple man

I saw Simple Man as both a calf at Vansickles and as a yearling at Caldwells.  For a bull that has absolutley no Heatwave, Who Made Who or Full Flush in his pedigree, he is very impressive. He is definitely one that we will be using and that I think will gain momentum over the next few years. JMO

    Donors on Ice

The whole sent went really well. Big crowd.  Thought one of the more interesting matings that sold worth the money were the Sooner x Chetah Girl embryos, think they only brought like 600-700 or something like that.  Those could be neat. Congrats to all the consigners on a good sale.

Can Simple Man be used on heifers?

I have never had a big Shiver.  Being that he is a Shiver out of a first calf Paddey O Malley and was born unassisted, I would guess he is safe to try.  I think his birthweight is only like 77 lbs.  He was one of my favorite bulls in the may show circuit
