I'm wanting to pursue a degree in Animal Science (would like some feedback)

I whole heartedly disagree with the notion that an Animal Science degree is worthless.  A very wise teacher once told me that 20 years from the time you graduate from college, the title on the degree would not matter.  He was right.  His theory was that your Bachelor's Degree teaches you first and foremost :  TO THINK and process information, to write and speak properly, and hopefully to interact well with people.  End of my sermon.

Good luck to you Mandy and all of you heading to school!

I agree with everything AAOK says and cowz.  My comments were not to say that a college degree is useless. The most important things I learned were not academics.

academics is simply one process to learn that is optimized for a group environment.

One of the best teachers and professors I have ever had always tells us: "Don't let school stand in the way of your education".
I try to remember this especially as a teacher. There is so much a person can learn outside of the classroom and I feel it's my job to try and expose as many people as possible to situations that will not only allow them to learn but allow them to be able to take it and apply it something later on down the road.
