I did the 5.5 day sync last year. used no heat tapes. Bred on the required time. Looks like in the first group of 4,am going to get 3 calves.

That is a mystery than on Deerpark Improver 3rd.I don't think he bloodtyped to Improver or any other known irish bull.That is a good thing for another irish male bloodline.

I guess I was a lucky one whose DMH Frosty Clipper came back TH Free.With two years of calves ,the clipper kings are definitely worth keeping.Best calving ease bull I have ever used.Calves are thick and salebarn and private buyers love them.

I know it is early but if others out there are making old hay like me,what are some suggestions own supplementing the cows.

We have had the discussion of breeding programs but I don't think I have seen discussion on implanting eggs and timing. any thoughts?

If the bloodline has nothing registered recently ,than you better test before a ghost that we were told didnt exist pops up with in one breeding before it is linebreed and the teal nasty stuff gets you. Id say 90%,clean,but the other 10% might have to worry about .

Wouldn't line breeding catch all these defects,or like it happens some carriers slip through.I guess that's how Deerpark improver bloodline got identified?Would just like to know what carrier bloodlines from long ago other than improver might be in the bottom of somebodys tank to be aware of?

I thought the improver line was the only line of shorthorns with TH. What were the other ones if you could say.Is that why you don't see much of all the English imports from 30,40,50,60s in breeding lines any more.
