We band at birth or a couple days later, but if we miss one we cut them at weaning.  Heals a lot faster if you cut them.

My feed guy says haylage adds about 1% to orchard grass clover mix. I would suggest that someone considering doing it have it custom done the first year to see if you like it. It adds more time to feeding and like stated before it takes more labor and extra equipment.  I have never done baleage...

I use my bobcat everyday. I would b lost without it. Only time it doesn't work is in mud. We feed on concrete so its never a problem. Fed with 4020's till we got the bobcat. Good old tractors!!

I was able to get 3 bought. I am excited about the future for these cows and there offspring.  My boys are getting old enough to show so hopefully we can have a lot of fun showing.

How many consecutive times can you flush a cow before you need to breed her to calve naturally.  I've always thought 2 times, but the more I here about people selling and implanting embryos the more I'm starting to think it is more than that.

Does anyone have or know where I could get some semen on an old bull named "Wonder".  I have looked on some of the major semen companies websites, but haven't found him.  I don't even know who use to carry him or own him. Thanks for any info.

I've only seen one  It was a decent steer out of a regular commercial cow. It had tons of hair, the 1st of September and the people who had him weren't the type to rinse daily.

When I get "I'll Let you know". I take that as not interested. I don't think I have ever had someone come back to buy one after they say that.

Keep feeding like you are and make sure eats before weigh in. Take water with you to weigh in and hope he drinks a lot before he steps on the scales. Also when you weighed him had he ate or drunk close to that time or had it been a few hours. You might gain a few pounds that way. If he gains 3...

You might worm her, sometimes that Brown hair means worms, should help her gain a little better too. Very nice heifer though.

Ohio Feeder Calf Roundup is the last weekend in September  I believe consignor must be from Ohio. Show is on Saturday and sale is on Sunday. Has bn a sale that I have consigned at for years.

Nice calf  from my experience with I-80 he will keep getting better.
