I am doing a class project for my nutrition and feeds class on show cattle rations. It would be greatly appreciated if you could share your feed rations for all stages of your show cattle, including any supplements given. Thank you very much in advance, this will help a lot!

I always think its funny when someone describes a steer/animal as "eloquent".

don't try anything new, keep their routine exactly the same.  Same time, quantity, and method of feeding.

While I may have some preconceived ideas to the answers to my question, I genuinely posted this thread and joined this forum to further broaden my knowledge about cattle in general and the show industry.  I can assure that my ideas have already chalged from the plethora of healthy discussion...

yes, that is how we continually get better and it is how we will survive.

Excellent points, I think its time our industry and this discussion board start finding solutions to these "slap in the face" problems.

"I have always taken great offense at people coming on these website and griping about show cattle.  With precious few exceptions, it comes from bitter, jealous people who have minimal involvement and are griping because its not easy.  Pay your dues for about 10 years before you even start...

Maybe I am blind, but I didnt see many people on here berating the club calf industry.  And I still think the two sides of the cattle industry are much closer than any of you want to admit.  But that is besides the point.  I am heavily involved in the club calf industry and like it. Not trying...

Everyone is going to get burned time and time again.  But there are still plenty of honest business men that are full of character and integrity.

I meant the show's collegiate judging contests that I competed in, each contest had one or two classes of market steers.  Not the stock show itself.

 Unless they are doing there work and paying their bills then its down the road they go.  This is exactly how I wish to manage my future operation.  100% agree with this part of your philosiphy.
