You will notice that the article is 'sponsored' by a firm of (vultures) solicitors! Who better to sue than the government/NHS, they are funded by the taxpayer.
When the economy gets tough, the best person to sue is a medical professional, it makes me sick! It would be interesting to see the difference in claims between the free NHS and the private healthcare providers I believe that you generally get what you pay for! If not, you should be entitled to sue for negligence!
I have heard reports of the British NHS being under such strain that they 'outsource' procedures to other countries due to the waiting periods in the U.K.
No government in the world can afford to provide first rate medical care to all it's citizens, fact. Healthcare workers are under increasing pressure to attend to more patients in their allocated work hours, nursing staff are often 'poached' from third-world countries!
With ageing populations worldwide, more people need more attention from an ever-reducing population of more specialised healthcare providers demanding more money for their services due to longer times required to achieve their level of expertise, it is a train-smash waiting to happen!
We should all accept that anything more than 'three score and ten', i.e. 70 years, is a bonus! Besides that, your money will run out soon after that, even if you have good retirement planning! Most of us can't afford to live until we are 100 years of age, without even getting into the 'quality of life' debate!
I'm sure that modern medicine could get people to 'last' 120 years by putting them into a state of conscious sedation and giving them cutting edge healthcare, but at what cost and what for?
Live a full life with no regrets until you are about 75, have some provision in place in case you live until you are 85, and hope your children have been well educated and are flourishing if you live beyond that!
