    JMO, if your target show is before September I would stick with working the hair you already have. April 1 slickshearing I'm afraid wouldn't give you enough time to get the regrowth of hair that your hoping for. You are north of us though so I would suggest that you ask your "locals".

    I believe the only breed that has remained true to itself is Red Angus. As of today I have yet to see any show updates that proclaim a Heatwave or Monopoly sired calf as champion Red Angus steer or heifer. Good for you all in the Red Angus breed.

    I'll be the odd one. I think you got the same calf sorry to say. I surely wish I had known he was getting ditched at the sale barn! Buy in person only if you want fat and fluff. We as a cattle community have got to learn to look at a green calf and project them on into what they will be.
