Wow sorry to hear that! I have not had that happen. If it were me I would do necropsy to make sure it's something that is nothing contagious. Unless someone on here can verify what happened to it. Sorry can't be more help but that is how I would handle it.

I used to have on that did this early too and she was always fine. Unless you feel really uncomfortable and to set your own mind at ease you can always have her checked by a vet. Just curious is this a heifer or a cow? Good luck with her!  <beer>

I agree with Zach. You have about 24hr window and I would not go past that. Calves are born without immune systems so the sooner the better. Also to agree with others as well I would never buy one from a sale barn. Sorry that you had to go through that!
