    Red Angus question

For calving ease with some grow and maternal value added back Above and Beyond. For some show ring appeal try Huckleberry through Brylor semen sales. Hamely will work on bigger females and will add power. Pictured is our Hamely son out of a Mulberry dam. 58 lb birth weight. Packer might be one...

    Semen Prices on New Bulls

The mark up is redicous on semen. Guys got rich on bulls that sold at $15. Everybody thinks they have a great one. Remember when buyer out numbered sellers. Now sellers out number buyer. The entire industry is messed up. All the BS prices on cattle just fuels it more.

Your thoughts on the results of the National Red Angus show in Denver

Coming from the Shorthorns to the Reds. The horns are 90% show 10 % commercial. The Red are 90% commercial 10% show. I think you will be ok. The is so much genetic choice you can breed or buy yourself out of any corner.

    Shorthorn bulls of the 80s

Wow this is a very cool post. At one time I owned the only Willowcrest Elavation heifer sold. Bought her at the sale Barry and Family had during Louisville. What a cool blast of the past. I fit on a few of the great ones in the 80's. They grew big back then.

if you had to start all over

I do not hate my Shorthorns at all. Actually just the opposite. They have been good to me. I have never been in a different breed. I just see more financial opportunity for me in my area with the Reds. I have sold some very successful females in the Shorthorns. It has just gotten to a point...

if you had to start all over

I would look back on my Shorthorns and say "what a ride, been there done that". I would not replace them. I would go straight to Kansas and put together the same Red Angus genetics I started working with building my cows as I did two years ago. I would go to my insurance man and he would pay me...
