    Breeding suggestions

I've been out of the club calf loop for a while, so I need some calving ease suggestions for a couple heifers we have. Both were held off last year from being bred because of their size. We're going to go for it this year, but need some good calving ease bulls. First picture is an I-80. Super...

    Clipping a heifer. Need tips.

We've got a heifer we are about to show in an open show at our county fair as a yearling heifer. I've always had steers and can clip them decently, I was mostly curious before I jump into this, with her being a thick heifer is there anything I should avoid to keep her feminine? The judge for the...

    Other uses for grooming products!

I was flipping through some old pictures and found. This one. It was my senior year for spirit week "Blast From the Past" day. My mom (queen of big hair) styled my hair. Of course, we had no hairspray. So we used Prime Time adhesive and some Hocus Pocus to remove it. I later put the picture of...

    Opinions on steer

So, opinions on my steer? He's out of Direct Hit. Our county fair is August 4th. And the last time he was weighed, he was about 1275, but the scales Maybe off. Also, due to the rain, his pen flooded, so He's a little dirty.

    Help with "itchy" steer

One of our steers has just recently started taking his front legs, like in little cartoons and throwing dirt/mulch anything up under his belly. And its making a huge mess. We tried washing his belly, and it seems to work, but I don't want to end up with dry skin. Why is he doing this? And how...

We decided to take a try with hair growth supplements on a heifer we have. (I really hope this don't start any problems) We've looked at Shag, Hide and Hair and Flair. Are any of them worth trying? Anybody have success with using them?

    Calf afraid of fans?

It's been every bit of 85 all week here in southern Ohio, and the poor steer was panting like crazy, so I put two old fan cage fans on him. Ever since I put them in, he stands in the far corner of the stall where the fans don't reach but when he is close to them he's constantly swishing his...

    Anxious steer?

When we walk one of our steers across the yard to be worked with, he walks perfectly fine. But when we walk him back towards the barn, he tries to walk fast like hes in a hurry to get there, and when we make it to the door, he practically drags me through, and straight to his pen. He does a...

    My 2012 progress

As some of you may recall from last year, I vented on here about the issues between me and my dad when it came to showing. This year, I took things into my own hands. I bought my own calf with money from where I sold my steer last year, I got a part-time job to pay for my feed and miscellaneous...
