    Breeders world online sale

and who's to say you're not bidding against the owner or someone the owner has bidding for him/her. Has anyone ever had any luck buying out of these sales? I'm always concerned unless you have time to see the animal in person. The only images you get on the video are the very best shots where...

    Star Of Texas Livestock show

I can agree with the FW grand steer. Really nice. I did not see the State fair steer so I can't comment. But the Star of Texas steer was a joke.

    Star Of Texas Livestock show

Anyone get to go watch the steer show? For the most part, I think the results went well. I'm a bit confused on the Champ steer though. Several good steers to choose from and he picks a extremely narrow tracking (rear feet almost touch) when walking. Rear legs had no flex when underneath him.

What do you think of Fort Worth Steer Show?

I also agree with many on here. This judge didn't even give a portion of the kids a chance. I witnessed first hand the following: As some have said, the exotics are from 75 to 80 steers in a class. I saw this judge pull his 10 on the walk in from the front portion of the class. He literally...

    Shootings!!! N/C

My thoughts and prayers go out to all in CT and especially the families of the lost love ones. I can not even begin to imagine the pain they are going through. While deeply saddened, I also get very aggravated when the first thing you hear is GUNS! Pencils don't misspell words and sports don't...

    Penicillin and Nuflor

If it's respiratory problems, Draxxon or Resflor Gold works well. However, if it's gone on too long, scar tissue will form and nothing will work.

    Show steer numbers (poll)

This seems to be a very common issue in A LOT of counties. Yes, including ours. If I'm reading your post correctly, they are considering lowering the steers in the sale and no others? That would certainly be unfair to the kiddos that want to show steers I think. You always hear of the rumors of...

    Texas Drought Pictures

Here in central Texas, I've never seen it this bad. This picture is horrible but the reality is in our area, even the weeds and trees are brown now. (except for mesquite trees) But a lot of those even are turing yellow. On top of that, it is very difficult to find any hay at all. All the people...

    check this bull out!

I'm still debating on whether or not to try this bull. I really like his looks. A LOT! However, the semen distributor did say he is a really short bull. The cow I'm needing to find something for is a large framed red simmy PB. Would you guys try him on this and hope for something that medium framed?

    Question about fungus

Not sure what it is so I thought some of you might know.. Have a steer with thick crusty patches down his back. I've seen this before on their under belly or between their legs. It seems to itch pretty good cause you scratch it with a curry comb and the steer freezes and loves it. However, you...

    too big

start rationing water a few days in advance with each day cutting back a little more. Get weighed in and then give water back a little every hour to rehydrate.

    HOT

So hot and dry here, let the dog out to go to the bathroom and the tree was chasing him around the yard.

    Hay prices

Here in Texas, if you can find it, 2 year old  (coastal mix) cow hay is going for $120 per roll. These are not the large rolls either. 4x5

    Halter Breaking question

it sounds like the steer has a little bit of size to him. I would suggest putting a REAL nose ring in his nose. Do not use it for 2 weeks. After that, put your nose lead in and only use it if he tries to pull away. This will probably stop his bad habit.

    Opinions on Monopoly Steers

I've heard some rumors so I thought I would ask people on here. Has anyone had personal experiences with Monopoly show steers? I've heard they look really nice as babies but really don't pack on the muscle when at the size for show. 1200+ lbs.

    Opinions on steer, please!

from what I can see, yes there are big issues with his front leg structure. Normally calves will not be able to stand long the heavier they get. Hats off to you. With that said, the steer looks to be fed well. Looks smooth and finished good. Can't see his top line but he looks like he might...
